On the second day of fashion week I was able to do a quick outfit change for the evening shows. I was so happy to be able to freshen up and change into one of my new favourites from Shilla. Pale grey seems to be everywhere right now so I was uber excited to jump on board this trend!
Styling up a pale grey dress could seem a bit daunting as it’s a bit of a blank canvas. I relied heavily on accessories to bring this look from boring to chic.
Here’s my tips for styling a pale grey dress:
- Gold and grey go nicely – think about gold accents in your accessories like a gold handbag strap or a gold sunglass arm – it’s all in the details.
- Stick to black heels… black and brown clash with grey, and white is too similar unless it’s a darker shade of grey.
- Laying necklaces, earrings and watch all mandatory – once again relying on the finer details to bring some interest into the look.
- Layer on the fake tan! Pale grey (like white) can wash you out completely so a healthy coat of fake tan is essential. My favourite is Bondi Sands for a spray tan look at home. One of the best sellers at Priceline Australia.
- Berry lips – this shade compliments the light tone of the dress, you can get away with a darker when your clothing is lighter. Red would also work but my personal obsession is with berry right now and in particular this Maybelline crayon.
