It’s been a while since my days of living in London, on my last visit I wanted to do my homework and find all the best cafes the city has to offer. Not to mention try all the coffee and sample every menu possible! Being a Sydney-sider usually means having a high standard when it comes to coffee, but London’s finest certainly didn’t disappoint. See some of my favourite cafes below:

Monmouth Coffee

27 Monmouth St, London WC2H 9EU

Conveniently situated on the outskirts of Borough Market, Monmouth Coffee is a god send. The type of coffee that’s as smooth as it is strong, and makes you want to savour every mouthful. Expect a queue but Monmouth is definitely worth the wait! Treating yourself to a pastry is also a must.

Granger & Co. Kings Cross

Seven Pancras Square, Unit 1 Stanley Building, London N1C 4AG

Being an Aussie it’s hard not to be biased when it comes to Granger and Co. A Bill Granger venture, the Kings Cross venue is a beautifully designed space with a light and airy feel. It’s pale pink minimalist interiors, with pops of yellow and khaki are heaven. On top of that they serve a mean latte and those famous ricotta hotcakes. Other locations include Clerkenwell and Notting Hill.

Farm Girl Cafe

59A Portobello Rd, London W11 3DB

Farm Girl is already popular amongst bloggers and often pops up on Instagram. It’s shabby chic exteriors in white and pink, solid menu, and unique coffees bring people in by the droves. Try the violet or rose petal latte for something special!

Nude Coffee Roasters

25 Hanbury St, London E1 6QR

The humorous sign outside Nude Coffee Roasters claims their barristers make your cup of coffee in the nude. Although this isn’t true, they do know how to make a legendary coffee with their excellent roast. Another one with cool high ceilings and a minimal vibe. Perfect pitstop before or after Spitafields Markets.

Trade Coffee London

47 Commercial Street, London E1 6BD

Trade Coffee (not far from Liverpool Street and Spitafields Market) is another best kept secret of East London. A favourite of hipsters and locals around East London. They do kick-arse coffee and breakfast and there’s often a line. If you’re in the mood try the chocolate cake for dessert after your eggs.

Fuckoffee

163 – 167 Bermondsey St, London SE1 3UW

A quirky, colourful and unpretentious cafe on Bermondsey Street, South London. Playing punk rock and indie music, it’s a haven for all coffee-lovers including professionals, students, and mums catching up with their kids. They all come for the same reason – quality coffee and ‘i-don’t-give-a-s**t’ vibes. A great one for grabbing a takeaway or getting cosy on the couches.
