This past weekend my mum and I went to Melbourne to celebrate her birthday. There’s nothing like escaping to Melbourne for a good dose of culture, shopping, eating, and coffee drinking!

This year I’m trying to maintain a minimalist but classic wardrobe, and I thought Melbourne was the perfect time to trial this new(ish) approach.
Trialling a minimalist wardrobe sounds like a fun challenge! Besides the year new also seems like a great time to declutter. I’d still like to focus on all the high street brands I love and wear on a regular basis, but add in a splash out piece every so often.
I’ll never strip colour out of my closet. I love colours and classic but contemporary details – i.e. this bag & shoe combo.
How cute is this bag?! The colour is divine, and the other colours have got me like – WHOA. See brownie/khaki, blue & electric blue. (Orange coming soon)
These shoes from Revolve Clothing are my new faves – the leather is so buttery soft!
I couldn’t resist Khaki but they also come in Whiskey.
Has anyone tried a minimalist approach to dressing? If so, I’d love your feedback on what worked (and maybe what didn’t!)
Kudos to photographer Griffin Simm for these pics! We recently met on Instagram. Follow his talents here.
Love your post! I want to de-clutter my style this year too. I love experimenting with different lipstick colours and its easier to do with a minimalist, classic wardrobe. I’m so over wasting time trying to match colours. Simplicity is the way to go!
Defo! I love decluttering it feels so satisfying :) love a good lipstick too – great idea!!
