SHEIN MOTF Collection Review – Australia

My latest ‘need everything on the website’ obsession is SHEIN’s MOTF collection. I’ve been snapping up pieces left-right and centre and building out my summer wardrobe. It’s an upmarket take on regular SHEIN (fast fashion at its best) and is designed with more sustainable fabrics in mind. Think silk, linen and rayon to name a few. Priced slightly higher than the usual stuff on SHEIN’s website but still very affordable.

Sizing

The size guides are accurate. I’m a 10 and a medium fits perfectly. Sizing charts on the website are straightforward and easy to follow.

Shipping/returns

Shipping to Australia is usually pretty quick, items are coming from China. Returns are easy and only $1 if you drop them back at a Parcel Point store. Or otherwise a flat rate with Australia Post of $10.52 which comes off your refund. Either way, returns are no-fuss and easy to book via the website. Lately, I’ve been doing the Parcel Point option because I’m always at my local store sending Poshmark packages so it makes sense!

Price v quality

The SHEIN MOTF range has good options for people looking for a classy outfit but not wanting to break the bank. The quality is better than regular SHEIN. Think stylish dresses for a summer BBQ or Christmas party, dupe designer handbags – I saw a Prada copy – and all the sandal goodness under $40. Personally, I like to buy a few cheaper dresses and style them with a designer bag for a high street/luxury feel in one. You can’t tell the dresses are on the cheaper side.

I like the sustainable aspect and I’m becoming more and more conscious of this. Fast fashion is a huge problem for the environment and it scares me to think about it. The website www.sustainyourstyle.org reports that “cheap synthetic fibres also emit gases like N2O, which is 300 times more damaging than CO2”. Worrying stuff :(

Additional info

  • Fabrics like viscose, silk, modal, recycled polyester, cotton, linen. I’ve noticed some of the items are still made from 100% polyester so I am always sure to check first
  • Become a SHEIN member by signing up on their website – there’s always coupon codes and discounts for members – I am always scoring 15% – 20% off
  • Collect SHEIN points for each order
  • Make sure to untick ‘postage insurance’ on the order page (it’s only $1.50 but they sneakily add it automatically and I find it unnecessary!)
  • Quick-ish delivery and easy returns
  • High end looks at affordable prices
  • Well styled items and thousands of reviews with pics etc – extremely helpful
  • Do a bulk order and send back unwanted items for $1 at a ParcelPoint store

Conclusion

The SHEIN MOTF range has really chic, effortless pieces which are mostly made from environmentally conscious fabrics. The website has a great layout and the items are perfectly styled on the models. SHEIN’s MOTF collection is a step in the right direction for sustainability and still delivers on the affordable looks we love them for – now they need to level up with sustainable packaging.

So far I’ve purchased these flatform sandals to wear with all my summer outfits, this one-shoulder green top to match with black trousers, and a plain silk blend knit top which can be dressed up or down. Next, I’m thinking about this recycled polyester asymmetrical skirt and a classic shirt dress

Have you bought anything from the SHEIN MOTF premium collection? Let me know what you think! xo
