The last couple of weeks since getting back from holidays have been the busiest of my life that I can remember, and I’m finally relaxing and updating the blog on a Friday night with wine in hand and loving every minute! I’ve missed you guys a lot!
This not so original look was thrown on without thinking and it wasn’t until I was in Newtown (Sydney’s trendy inner west), wearing stripes, a pinafore and a fedora, taking photos and drinking coffee that I suddenly felt very cliche. It was too late though because I was already in love with this outfit, the simplicity and rock n roll element had me hooked. I guess just because a look has been done to death doesn’t mean you can’t try it again and add your own personal touches. Fashion is just a bit of fun after all, right?
These pics were the last in a series of photos taken by my good friend Lisa who has since moved back to the States, and I’m missing her like crazy. Kudos to her for having such a great eye for photos and being a whiz behind the camera. We had a great final afternoon, hanging out and living the hipster dream in Newtown :)
This day finished with us taking over a local cafe with an impromptu photoshoot. We walked in to the stylish 212 Blu right on close and in desperate need of caffeine. Instead of giving us the standard ‘we’re closed’ speech the cool staff said we could order and stay whilst they packed up around us. We were happy with this and started chatting away to each other before noticing how freaking awesome this place actually is. Great big white tiled walls, high ceilings, trendy mags, and lots of cute details including their own branded 212Blu coffee cups – not to mention fantastic coffee! Before I knew it Lisa was snapping away and capturing all the greatness of this place. A little piece of New York in Newtown! So there you go, finally a cafe on Leather and Lattes and one well worth the mention.
Some exciting news: I’m going to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia!!! Get ready for coverage and updates of Sydney fashion week on the blog and social media next week. I feel thrilled to have been invited – just need to get outfit planning now :)
