Although I love colour, during winter I sometimes find myself falling into basic wardrobe territory – think denim (see my last post here), black, navy, greys and darker colours with standard gold accessories. I guess when the shorter, darker days take over it definitely has an influence on people’s moods and what they choose to wear, and it definitely happens to me. In contrast, I can’t think of anything nicer than walking down the street on a crisp winter’s morning, and seeing someone wearing a colour pop of red, pink or yellow in a knit, scarf, blazer or going one step further and fully mixing & matching colours. Last Sunday I fancied breaking out of my winter norm, and mixing a new colour combination – pink and blue.
Luckily it wasn’t that cold last weekend which allowed me to try out this look, otherwise I could have potentially froze! This is what I wore for afternoon tea with fellow blogger friend Helen, and it’s the first time I’ve tried out this interesting colour combination. I think it worked well because a) the material is similar in the pink blazer and navy trousers so the fabrics meshed well together, and b) the colours subtly complimented each other to perfection. As a result I ended falling in love with the pink and navy contrast.
Do you guys like wearing colour in winter?
