This winter I’ve been testing a couple of genius products which have transformed my winter skincare and make up routine. I find it’s important to customise your regime based on the weather to achieve perfect skin all year round.
Here are my current beauty essentials:
1. Coast to Coast – Pore Purifying Cleansing Oil
First up is the Pore Purifying Cleansing Oil from Coast To Coast. Having not used an oil based cleansing until recently, I’m now a convert. Not only does leave the face feeling uber fresh, it also removes makeup easily which is a bonus. Because who wants to spend extra time on cold bathroom tiles in winter taking their makeup off? No-one! The eucalyptus in this product is absolutely amazing too.
2. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
An old favourite lipstick I recently rediscovered during fashion week. It’s super moisturising and is the perfect choice for a winter to compete with dry lips. Not to mention it stays on all day and comes in a gazillion different shades. If you’re a brunette there’s plenty of pink based shades to choose from. My personal favourite is rum raison which compliments blonde hair. A winter must-have!
3. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact
This compact from Bobbi Brown is lovely for a few reasons. It’s the subtle glow is really nice with shimmery undertones, and you can add more or less depending it’s the perfect sublet glow for paler winter skin and o many reasons but a couple that stand out are: 1. It’s a subtle bronzer with shimmery affect which gives a nice glow rather than a harsh matte affect. 2. There’s plenty of shades to choose from. 3. Great for soft contouring in the form of a bronzer. Such a solid productgives pale skin a nice glowwhich makes for the which softens the face has a shimmer so it doesn’t winter bronzer when your skin is pale and you’re after something more subl after a more subtle glow. With skin being more pale this time of year, you want something that blends in easily and doesn’t give harsh lines. The shimmer brick compact is your ticket Brown fits the bill with the shades perfectly blending together on the face to give a nice contouring affect. If you use a thin brush you can use all the colour individually too on different parts of the face.
4. Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster
Dermalogica is a favourite all year round, but this product is particularly good for an extra moisture hit during the winter. A luxe daily moisturiser which smells divine and fights off the fine lines. Tip: use two layers to combat dryness.
Quite possibly the best lip balm of all time. Vanilla & watermelon is an awesome combination and it’s seriously good enough to eat. The texture is gooey in the best possible way. Use a tad on your lips before you apply lipstick and it works a treat. Beware: this stuff is addictive!
