A weekend in Byron Bay is always a good idea, and our last visit staying at ‘The Atlantic’ certainly didn’t disappoint!
We hadn’t heard too much about The Atlantic prior to our stay but we booked on a whim and didn’t realise how much of a treat we were in for. The grounds of The Atlantic Byron Bay were tropical, serene and a blissful escape from the everyday. Not to mention manicured and styled down to the last cactus. The accommodation consisted of 3 different guest houses identified by different names. We were in the Palms guest house in one of the upstairs room, complete with it’s own balcony and swinging chair. Everything was fresh and airy with luxe beach vibes!
The Atlantic is located right in the heart of town, so it’s a perfect spot if you’re only just getting to know Byron or if you’re familiar and looking for somewhere central.
Byron Bay itself is super easy to get to, being only an hour (or just under) from Sydney to Ballina with easy transfers at the other end. After visiting Byron twice this year in April and June, I could say these were both great times to visit. Being out of peak season means it’s a bit quieter (but no less lively) and you can find some cheaper flights and accommodation.
Fact: The weather was still warm in June the first month of winter in Australia and so was the ocean for swimming. A light jacket was only needed one of the days. Definitely take your swimsuit if heading there in June!
BEST CAFES IN BYRON BAY
Topshop Cafe
A cute little takeaway place on the top of a hill. They literally serve everything on the menu in takeaway containers including acai bowls, muesli, breakfast burgers, bacon egg rolls etc etc. It’s a great cafe with a chilled vibe and the perfect place for a takeaway coffee.
Folk
Folk is a hippie’s dream just out of town, you can walk for around 15 minutes or take a quick taxi. Either option is really straight forward. We went on a Monday and pretty much had the place to ourselves. The food was delish and the fish burger went down a treat. Very cosy little cafe, also a great spot for doing a bit of work as they have free wifi.
Bayleaf Cafe
Bayleaf is a typical Sydney style cafe (in a good way). It’s got great coffee and food, and the decor is like something you might find in a trendy Surry Hills cafe. Big points for the cold brew coffee, which was really good! Same with the kale eggs which were to die for. Probably my #1 choice of cafe in Byron Bay.
Cocktails
Don’t miss the coconut margaritas at ‘Miss Margarita’ they’re to die for. Also balcony bar (an oldie but a goodie) still serve up great cocktails – try the egg cocktail if you’re into that kind of thing!
We didn’t make it ‘The Farm’ but it’s on the list for next time.

Sometimes I wish I lived in Australia! Everything looks so fresh, white, inspiring and clean. I imagine my head would be super clear at this place! Beautiful outfits, too <3
