Last weekend I was lucky enough to get away with a friend for a quintessential girls getaway to Melbourne. It had been a while since venturing down to Melbourne for the ultimate girls weekend, and a much needed shopping trip was in order!

My friend and I arrived at our accommodation, the beautiful Hotel Lindrum after a hectic morning of travel, and the staff immediately set us at ease with a warm welcome and arrival drink. Having seen pics of Hotel Lindrum online and being super impressed, we were absolutely blown away in real life. The building itself is so unique and from the outside looks like it belongs in NYC or Chicago. Not to mention it used to be owned by tea & coffee merchants Griffiths in the 1900s – how fitting!

Upon entering our room we were pleasantly surprised, there were luxury vibes a-plenty and an unpretentious feel. The centre piece of the room was the big plush white bed, with a massive striking archway window behind it overlooking the Southbank. It was the perfect sanctuary for us between exploring all Melbourne has to offer. The robes and mint coloured tea cups were a favourite!

We gravitated towards spending time at the hotel as well as exploring – we were so close to the city so could duck home with shopping bags and take a breather. The hotel had such a friendly vibe that it was more like a large house, with posh bar area, pool table, and comfy couches everywhere.

A highlight of the trip was getting ready for our Saturday night out in Melbourne and taking our time to enjoy the hotel bar beforehand. We were having so much fun we almost didn’t leave for dinner! The bar tender whipped up tasty cocktails – the espresso martini is a must-try.

During our stay we ate in as much as we ate out. Whether it was enjoying the buffet or a la carte breakfast (the mushroom omelet is divine) or experiencing the amazing high tea on a Sunday. Think impeccable setting – fireplace, piano music, and the sweetest arrangement of delectable treats on a three tiered layer serving stand. It was such a nice contrast against the cold Melbourne weather outside and my mind drifted to Aspen for some reason whilst chilling by the fire!

All in all our stay was made by the truly unbelievable staff at the hotel who were so customer service oriented it was untrue. At every turn they were willing to give advice on where to eat out, chat at breakfast to see how our night played out – and whip up the perfect cocktail even if it wasn’t necessarily on the menu! We really couldn’t fault our stay and can’t wait to go back.

If you’re looking for a fabulous Hotel to stay during your trip to Melbourne, Hotel Lindrum is definitely your ticket!
