Last week a couple of other bloggers and myself were invited to try out the new 4-course winter menu at Lobby Boy. A new kid on the block in North Sydney, this stylish venue blew us away with it’s stunning interiors and upmarket ambiance.
The new menu was designed by Executive Chef Sachin Shrestha.
Situated in the lobby of North Point Tower (hence the name), Lobby Boy is a decent size venue with a beautiful fit out – think very classy with lots of velvet and dark wood. The wall-to-floor windows provide a beautiful outlook to the streets of North Sydney, however Lobby Boy is a far cry from the hustle and bustle below.
The new winter menu available on Thursdays and Fridays includes a 4-course share menu for $79 per person with a complimentary glass of wine (minimum 2 people).
The night started with a couple of alcoholic beverages (why not!) – I went for a bubbles and an espresso martini. The venue had good vibes and the waitstaff were very attentive.
After a few drinks to wet the whistle we started the 4 course dinner. There were 2 x tables set up side by side and it was an intimate setting. It got me thinking it would be the perfect spot for lunch or dinner with a large group.
I chose duck breast for my main as I hadn’t had duck in ages and it was so tasty. Call me basic but I also really enjoyed their classic focaccia bread and couldn’t stop devouring it! They serve it with salt, butter and oil. I had a glass of pinot noir with my main which was divine.
The dessert was amazing and looked like art. Carefully put together with cream, chocolate and biscuit base. Heaven.
In conclusion we had an amazing night celebrating the new winter menu launch at Lobby Boy. The restaurant is a lovely addition to the North Sydney bar and restaurant scene, with fancy décor, intimate mood lighting and a big impressive space. I was loving that I got to wear my new Self-Portrait sequin dress for the first time! A night of laughs, fun and one too many cocktails – never a bad thing.
Lobby Boy is open for dinner Thursday and Friday from 5.30pm until late. Make sure you guys try it out! xo
