To warm up for my USA trip in the coming weeks, I attended the ‘United States of Style’ event at David Jones this past Thursday at their Elizabeth Street Store. It was a fun filled event spread across the men’s and woman’s departments to celebrate the brands that make the United States so iconic. Some of these including: J Brand, Guess Jeans, Levis, Kate Spade and Current/Elliott to name a few.
True to the American theme we kicked off the evening with Doctor Pepper and Budweiser from the pop up bar at Level 1 women’s wear, whilst perusing the rails of Guess Jeans and J Brand. I fell in love with amazing jackets from Guess, and swooned over the new J Brand printed jeans for winter. It was too much fun taking photos at the NYC photo-booth with the girls, getting photos in front of a busy New York City street setting whilst humming Alicia Keys ‘Concrete Jungle’ under our breaths!
Next we headed over to Market Street on level 1 to find out what was happening in the men’s section. Turned out there was plenty of action with the Stenmark twins taking part in the Levis Commuter Challenge! We got to watch the guys competing on the Levis bikes which was a definite crowd pleaser! They really have the all American heart throb look don’t they? With lots of people around we continued to enjoy break dancing, DJs, mini burgers and hot dogs well into the night. I even tried my first root beer and found out to my surprise it doesn’t have alcohol in it! :)
Overall a great night out to celebrate an awesome selection of USA brands! It definitely got me excited for my trip to the States in a few weeks!
