I can’t remember a trip to Melbourne where I haven’t stopped in at the fabulous Madame Brussels cocktail bar for drinks. It’s the perfect place for enjoying a delish cocktail on a popular roof terrace in central Melbourne. Madame Brussels herself was a well to do Melbourne brothel owner in the 1800s, and the bar is named after her. It has a playful theme and the decor is mostly pink, but that doesn’t mean it’s just for the girls! The crowd is diverse and there’s people of all walks to life, and it has a cool unpretentious vibe.
We stopped into Madame Brussels on a recent trip to Melbourne to have an afternoon drink and snack before hitting up the shops. This time around we had the hot chocolate cocktail pot and finger sandwiches which were super tasty. If you’re looking for something a bit more substantial I’d also recommend the sausage rolls which are amazing! Or if you’d prefer something sweet the cupcake is one of the best I’ve ever had!
All in all, Madame Brussels is a cute little find in the heart of Melbourne CBD, and who doesn’t love a rooftop?
