This week I’m FINALLY sharing details of my Pretty Little Thing dress haul. I ‘unboxed’ these dresses a few weeks ago on my Instagram stories and you guys went nuts for them! Let’s just say I was excited about them too and wanted to share a few more details on ways to style them, the price, quality and so on.
If you’re not au fait with Pretty Little Thing (PLT) it’s a fun fashion site based in the UK. Similar to Boohoo and In The Style they always seem to be having a sale – amazing news for us – and the styles are refreshed weekly (if not daily?!) which means there’s always something new to browse.
This year one of my resolutions is to buy less and choose well, so I ordered 12 dresses a view of sending some back that weren’t right. I was happily surprised and loved quite a few of the dresses. Sometimes it’s hard to gage styles and patterns online but the photos on the PLT website were pretty accurate.
There’s soooo much product on the website, especially in terms of trendy dresses for 2019. It helps if you’re looking for something specific to avoid decision overwhelm eg. a work dress, girly brunch outfit or casual day dress. The dresses I’m drawn to these days are classic styles, and pieces you can wear for multiple occasions – ie. easily styled on a Saturday for high tea, or switched up for the office by swapping a shoe or handbag. It’s like a challenge for me at the moment to style things in new and interesting ways!
My top picks include the Dalmation Shirt Dress, the Black Floral Polka Dot Shirred Waist Dress and the Chocolate Frill Detail Pleated Skater Dress. Not to mention the easy day style Pocket Detail T Shirt Dress – so classy with a black waist belt, heels and bag.
Some of the dresses were very inexpensive coming in under $50. The pieces are true to size in most cases apart from a couple of the bodycon pieces which were a size down (as in I ordered a 10 but they felt like an 8) and something to note.
Overall I’m really digging PLT and their cute styles for the budget conscious. It would be good if quality was more carefully considered and more sustainable fabrics were used – it’s definitely something I’m more in tune with these days! Very pleased with these must-have dresses for 2019 all the same.
