Balsam Hill Christmas Tree Review

This Christmas Balsam Hill asked me to take part in their ‘Home Tour’ campaign. A few bloggers and myself were invited to choose a few products from the website, and style them in our own home. I was extra excited because I’d never actually owned a Christmas tree, and any type of styling project gets me super excited – especially interiors.

I decided to turn my blog post into a product review, to give you guys an idea of what it’s like to shop with Balsam Hill, Australia.

Christmas Tree

The Balsam Hill Christmas tree I chose was the Frosted Fraser Fir. This is because I had my heart set on a icy winter theme, and fell in love with this snow-covered tree. The Frosted Fraser Fir Christmas Tree is the perfect tree for bringing an icy winter theme to life, finished off with silver accessories and fairy lights.

If you’re looking for a classic green tree, my favourites on the website are the Silverado Slim Christmas Tree and the Vermont White Spruce Tree. Traditional red and gold ornaments would be a nice fit for either of these trees, however if you want a modern twist, try rose gold decorations instead.

Balsam Hill Christmas trees range in size from 135 centimetres to a whopping 365 centimetres. Prices vary per size but start at $239 and go up to (and over) $1000 for the most expensive trees. Balsam Hill have regular sales which bring down the prices significantly.

Tip:

It sounds obvious but I suggest choosing a theme that works with the existing colours in your living room. For example if you have a lot of timber furniture, a classic green tree is probably your best bet. I chose a cool toned tree to match my pale grey sofa. Pinterest is great if you need theme inspiration or ideas for your own space.

Decorations

I went for the Balsam Hill Crystal Palace Ornament 35 piece set which is truly stunning and suits the ‘icy winter theme’. The decorations are big, beautiful and sparkly and perfectly compliment the tree. They come in varying shades of silver, hand painted, with lots of glitter and embellishments. They really make a statement!

Side note: I did add a few extra smaller baubles in varying shades of green from Marks and Spencer. This really worked with the silver.

Tip:

Go for metallic or sparkly decorations as they’re really emphasised at night when the lights hit them!

Lighting

You can choose to purchase your Balsam Hill Christmas tree without lights or pre-lit with LED lights built into the tree. Prices depend on tree size, so depending on your budget it could be better to purchase fairy lights separately.

The Balsam Hill pre-lit Christmas trees use a unique connection through the tree trunk, which means no unnecessary cords or hassle. Very convenient if you want to spend more time decorating and less time untangling!

Summary

I’m very pleased with my first Balsam Hill shopping experience. Selecting the products on the website was easy, and all the sizing is clearly stated with height and width in centimetres.

The descriptions are accurate and well-written. When the products arrived it was evident they were good quality, from the tree to the decorations and lighting. I was able to bring my winter wonderland to life, and I look forward to many more years with this amazing tree!

Merry Christmas everyone! xo
