Welcome to the new Leather and Lattes ‘Out For Coffee With…’ series! About a month ago I started thinking about bringing a new element to the blog, as I felt it was missing something exciting and fun. I also wanted to dial up the cafe side of the blog, and showcase some great cafes and bars around Sydney and beyond. My boyfriend James being the creative he is, gave me the idea of interviewing other bloggers which I thought was great. As well as showcasing the latest cafes and bars, I could introduce you to some awesome new blogs to follow and get the inside scoop!

The interviews won’t stop at bloggers, they will extend to popular Instagrammers, youtubers, beauty writers, photographers, brands and many more. If there’s someone you’re particularly interested in hearing about – drop me a line in the comments section!

I couldn’t be more happy with how the first interview played out at Flat White Cafe in Woollahra. I interviewed the lovely Tina from Trash to Treasured blog, who’s been an Insta friend for over a year and recently became a real life buddy! Tina’s please blogging for a few years now and her blog has a ‘Bargain’ focus to it which I love. Read on for Tina’s interview below!

Thanks for joining us as the first blogging in the Leather and Lattes out for coffee series! First up question, why were you inspired to start your blog?

Firstly, I have a serious shopping habit! But next to my love of all things retail is my love of finding a good bargain. So as a creative outlet, and to break up the monotony of the daily grind, I started up Trash to Treasured as a space to share my fashion finds and outfit ideas- with all pieces featured being sourced for under $150.

What makes Trash to Treasured unique?
The combination of affordability and accessibility. I always try my best to style current season items sourced from large chain and online stores so each post can cater to a wider audience, no matter their location or price point. In addition to this I always have my ears peeled for the latest sale or discount code which I then share on my social media platforms- you’ll always be in the know!

You look very stylish today! What are you wearing?
Oh, thank you! Right back at you! The jeans ($50) and blouse ($30) are Boohoo. Flats are from Zara ($60) and the clutch is from Target ($15).I picked up the trench at an end of winter sale last year and it’s only cold enough to start wearing it now! But it’s great to snap up wardrobe classics on sale as it’ll always be in style.

Do you have a favourite café in Sydney?
It has to be Rueben Hills in Surry Hills. Get the baked eggs, fried chicken or salted caramel milkshake (or all of the above!)

Since your site is all about bargain buys, can you let us in on your favourite place to find a bargain in Sydney?
I work next door to Westfield in Parramatta and a lot of my bargains are found on my lunch break! There’s a store there called Dolly Girl Fashion (they’re also online now) and I’ve found their stock is the cheapest when it comes to styles that are trending on Instagram and online stores. I also frequent Target for work wear and home wares, Cotton On for basics and Kmart for a bit of everything!

If someone was interested in blogging, what would be a few things you would suggest?
First and for most I say: just start! Get pen to paper (or words to screen rather) and what works for you and what doesn’t will start to fall into place. From there, find your niche and your brand aesthetic- which is made easier by blogging about something you already love. This also helps to keep your posts genuine and develop a transparent and trusting relationship with your readers. I also read Independent Fashion Bloggers (http://heartifb.com/), a great website catering for both new and veteran bloggers with daily articles on blogging tips, strategies and content ideas.
