Review: West Hotel Sydney

Step around the corner of Sussex Street and you’ll spot a building that could be mistaken for a studded sapphire box. Sydney’s newest addition to the hotel scene, West Hotel, boasts a beautiful rectangular exterior that’s designed to look like a glistening jewel. Step inside, and you’ll discover interiors that are equally as impressive. From the chic timber furnishings to the velvet chairs and the stone top bar, the feel is extremely chic yet inviting.

After an arduous week, checking-in for the night was a heaven-sent treat. My king size room included its own espresso machine (I made myself two), fruit bowl and replenishing views of King Street Wharf.

West Hotel is nestled amongst Sydney best shopping, dining and drinking options. I enjoyed the short walk to my favourite high street and designer stores in the QVB and Pitt Street Mall for a spot of browsing. The hotel’s inhouse restaurant Solander Bar and Dining is great for a coffee or cocktail while people watching. I decided to dine in on Saturday night, and was glad I did. The cuisine was exceptional, and I can highly recommend the gin cocktails! Those who fancy continuing their evening are in prime position to explore the city’s enchanting small bars.

As a boutique hotel close to Barangaroo, West Hotel is a great option if you want something a stylish city stay that doesn’t cost a bomb. Rooms start from a reasonable $208 (AUD) per night. It’s worth noting that with West Hotel Sydney part of Hilton’s Curio Collection, Hilton members enjoy perks like points accrual and complimentary Wi-Fi with their stay.

Book your room at West Hotel here.

Thank you to West Hotel for a remarkable stay.
