In the approach to winter I usually go through a stage of digging out items from last year and deciding whether they’re ‘worthy’ of staying for another.
Last year I bought a few good quality pieces, and this year it’s paid off because I’ve been able to wear them for a second season. It’s been fun to re-wear and style up old pieces with some new ones and I’ve found outfit planning more satisfying because of it.
It’s been a reminder to 1. invest in more quality pieces and 2. Make use of items from season to season.
My favourite season to season purchases:
1. Jumpers in block colours with a flattering cut. This one from Witchery was my staple last winter and it’s still going strong this year.
2. Fedoras – these don’t change from season to season
3. Classic gold or silver jewellery – find quality pieces that won’t get tarnished or break
4. Leather Jacket – this will always be a wardrobe hero in my eyes
5. A classic watch – never ages and makes your look sharp. Think Daniel Wellington or Larson Jennings. Or try out a new brand from ASOS called ‘Olivia Burton’ – truly amazing watches! One of these babies high on my #wishlist right now.
