As you may or not be aware, I recently had a girls weekend away in Melbourne staying at the fabulous Lindrum Hotel. It was a great city escape where we got to forget about everything and let loose in Melbourne and enjoy ourselves for a couple of days. Here’s a little 24-hour guide for those heading to Melbourne for a fleeting trip… xo

Check in: Somewhere centrally located so you can get to your next destination quickly and cut out travel time. After all, this frees up more time for shopping and sampling new bars / restaurants! Try Hotel Lindrum, Grand Hyatt or Swanston Hotel for accommodation – all based in the city.
Saturday afternoon: An afternoon drink at Cookie or Madame Brussels is always fun, then nip to H&M to grab yourself a bargain and maybe something cool to wear for your Saturday night out. Head back to the hotel for some chill time and start to get ready for your evening.
Saturday night: Head to Chin Chin, Meat Ball & or Lucy Liu for dinner – all are within walking distance of each other. They’re all very trendy venues, but have some incredulous wait times, so head for a pre-dinner drink at a bar of your choice. Personal favourites are Siglo open air roof terrace for a wine, or Vue De Monde for a fancy cocktail and city views from 55 floors up.
Late night: Head to Go-Go Bar for a post dinner Aperol spritz, then onto Double Happiness for another, hop over to Carlton Club if you’re looking for a late late one.
Sunday morning: Grab breakfast at Operator 25 cafe, you will be very happy you did this. Amazing coffee & food and service! There’s also cool artwork on the walls to distract you while you wait.
Sunday late morning: Depending on whether you enjoy a leisurely breakfast or duck in and out, swing by the Emporium shopping centre if you have time. It’s new-ish and a fantastic place to shop. COS is a must-do because we don’t have this store in Sydney yet!
Sunday afternoon: Swing by Waffee (waffles + coffee = genius) or Shortstop Melbourne for a donut and sugar hit before the flight.
